Children in the Philippines Need Your Help NOW

Super Typhoon Haiyan — one of the strongest storms ever to make landfall — has brought terrible destruction to the Philippines.  The lives of some 6.3 million children have been affected.

Many of these children and their families lost everything – their loved ones, their homes and all of their possessions. They now face a grim struggle to recover from the disaster and rebuild their homes and communities. They are in urgent need of our assistance.

UNICEF has been trucking and airlifting relief supplies – including shelter materials, medicines, water purification tablets, latrine slabs and hygiene kits – to Tacloban and other affected areas, and has helped to restore access to clean water to at least 428,000 people. We are conducting nutrition screenings for children and providing treatment to those who are severely malnourished. We are also preparing an immunization campaign to head off the spread of communicable disease among children, and we are providing child friendly spaces where children can rest or play in a protective environment.

UNICEF is appealing to the Thai public to provide funding to help sustain these efforts.
Every moment matters for them. Please help now.
