Why UNICEF?

What you’re about to do could change a child’s life forever. You could protect a child from dangers like disease, abuse and help them grow up safe and healthy, by donating online for children today.
UNICEF is the leading organization working for children in Thailand and many other countries around the world. We work in more than 190 countries to ensure that children all around the world are vaccinated, educated and protected. We’ve influenced laws and policies to help protect children and make sure that their rights are realized. You can help support this work by making online donation on our website.
By donating monthly to UNICEF, you become part of our work to deliver long-term aid that creates lasting change for children as well as addressing children’s immediate needs. This will ensure a regular and sustainable support for our long-term programmes for children in Thailand and around the world.

Not every child is born with the equal opportunities. You have an ability
to give opportunities to children from newborns to teenagers. For example…

Newborns
Receiving enough breastmilk during the initial stages of life establishes an important foundation in a child’s development. It has far reaching benefits and provides immunity against various diseases newborns otherwise have no protections against.

UNICEF works with the government to enforce the Control of Marketing of Infant and Young Child Food Act. The act promotes more breastfeeding, educates and protects mothers from misleading and unethical marketing of baby formula products. This critical work cannot be done without your support. Support our work for every child by making donation today to allow them to reach their full potential.

Early childhood
A child’s healthy development in early years requires lots of stimulation through activities, such as touching, talking, playing, reading a bedtime story. The interactions with children help stimulate development, learning, and build neurons in the brain to connect efficiently.

UNICEF helps parents, guardians, and caregivers better understand childhood and equips them with parenting tips to provide the best care for young children, so they grow up to their fullest potential. Join us in making a difference in a child’s life. Donate online now to help children in Thailand and around the world.

School age/Teenager
Did you know that 14% of high school age children are out of school? Inequality in education still occurs, especially with vulnerable groups. Every child should receive a quality education.

By providing access to quality education through various projects for children in remote areas of the country regardless of their background or nationality, UNICEF helps encourage and prepare these underprivileged children to stay in school.

UNICEF has worked with partners to establish the mobile library project. Under the project, there are mobile libraries running through winding roads, up and down mountains and into forests. It has brought books to children at 135 UNICEF-supported public schools for hill tribe communities. Over 15,000 students are currently benefiting from this project.

Testimonials
  • Yuttana Lorpanpaiboon

A talented director and performer, he has been donating to UNICEF since 2007.

"I feel that UNICEF has helped children for a very long time. They have no other sources of income. The only way we can help is through donation.

UNICEF helps children around the world regardless of race, religion, gender, or economic background. I feel like UNICEF does not take sides, which makes me want to join in their aid efforts. "

  • Sawitri Samiphak

Well-known actress and master of ceremonies. She has chosen to donate regularly to UNICEF since 2009

"I don’t think it matters if you are rich or poor, you can still make a choice to share with others whether it’s financially or else. There are still so many children in need and lack opportunities in education.

Everyone can help; you can donate any amount you can that does not cause personal hardship. And every time you hear news around the world about UNICEF help, you’ll feel that even though I am only a small part, I am a part of this organization, and this organization is the one that helps the world. "

  • Pipoauh Poomkaew

Master of Ceremonies and News Broadcaster. Since 2010, He has been donating regularly to UNICEF.

"When I was a child, there was a time I almost didn’t get to go to school. No one knew that many times I paid tuition fees late. I had to take out loans and borrow money. Still, I felt I was lucky that I had people who were willing to help me without the expectation of being repaid. There are many other children who weren’t as lucky as I was.

I have chosen to become UNICEF pledge donor as it is convenient to deduct monthly through credit card. It is also tax deductible. You don’t have to be that rich; anyone can donate. "

  • Atchara Cheyprasert, M.D.

Obstetrician. Pledge donor since 2004 and also make additional donation when opportunity arises

"The reason why I have decided to donate regularly to UNICEF for over 15 years is because I trust UNICEF as an international organization who has good system and can utilize our donation to really help children, not only in Thailand but other countries across the world where is harder to reach and less fortunate than us, even during conflict.

If you can, let’s play our part in the society. We cannot stand by alone anymore. The children of today are the future of tomorrow. We can only hope that the world that our children or grandchildren live in the future will be better."
